Primary Stent Placement for Chronic Spontaneous Infrarenal Abdominal Aortic Dissection: A Case Report
نویسندگان
چکیده
rare malady and it has been only infrequently reported on; its typical course and optimal management are not clearly defined (1). It is usually limited to the infrarenal aorta (1, 2). Isolated abdominal aortic dissection may be classified on the basis of its etiology as iatrogenic, traumatic or spontaneous (2). Primary abdominal aortic dissections comprise less than 2% of all aortic dissections, compared to 70% for ascending aortic dissections, 20% for descending thoracic aortic dissections and 7% for aortic arch dissections (3). We report here on a case of chronic SIAAD that caused stenotic change of the infrarenal abdominal aorta along with progressive lower extremity pain and claudication in both legs. The patient was treated with successful interventional management. Case Report

Acquired Infrarenal Abdominal Aortic Coarctation: Treatment with Percutaneous Self Expandable Stent
Abdominal aortic coarctation is an extremely rare vascular pathology. Its etiology can be congenital or acquired. Here we present a case of acquired infrarenal abdominal coarctation in a 66-year-old woman who complained of low back and legs pain. She had no signs of resting lower limb ischemia, with diminished distal pulses and normal blood pressure in upper and lower extremities. Magnetic reso...
متن کاملEndovascular Treatment of Infrarenal Isolated Abdominal Aortic Dissection with Application of the Kissing Stents Technique: A Case Report and Review of the Literature
Isolated abdominal aortic dissection (IAAD) is a rare form of aortic dissection involving usually the infrarenal part of the abdominal aorta. A 45-year-old male presented with lumbar pain and claudication. Computed tomography angiography (CTA) revealed an infrarenal IAAD extending to the left external iliac artery (EIA), causing ≥90% narrowing of the lumen. An endovascular approach was decided,...
متن کاملSuccessful Hybrid Treatment of Stent-Graft Migration Caused by Type B Aortic Dissection after Endovascular Aortic Aneurysm Repair: A Case Report
Herein, we report a rare case of type B aortic dissection that occurred after endovascular aortic aneurysm repair (EVAR). A 66-year-old man underwent successful EVAR for an abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA). Computed tomography (CT) 2 years after EVAR showed a type B aortic dissection with stent-graft migration and AAA expansion. Juxtarenal aortic expansion precluded simple stent-graft placement....
متن کاملThe INvestigation of STEnt Grafts in Aortic Dissection (INSTEAD) trial: the need for ongoing analysis.
In the present issue of Circulation, Nienaber et al1 report the results of a randomized comparison of strategies for type B dissection: the INvestigation of STEnt grafts in Aortic Dissection (INSTEAD) trial. This trial represents the first prospective randomized study of elective stent graft placement in survivors of uncomplicated chronic type B aortic dissection. The results have been eagerly ...

Acute aortic dissection is a common disease caused by primary tear in the aortic intima or rupture of vasa vasorum. Every year 5-30 per million are affected by that. Untreated aortic dissection (dissecting aortic aneurysm) carries a high mortality rate. More than 90% of acute dissections present with acute pain in chest or back or both. Aortic dissection may mimic other more common conditions...
